Hello!

My name is Meredith Nickens and I am the school counselor at Coastal Elementary. I was born and raised in a small town in Tennessee. I married my husband in 2018 and moved to North Carolina. We have two dogs, Ruby and Rowdy, who are absolutely spoiled. In my free time I enjoy reading, camping, hiking, and traveling to the mountains whenever possible.

I received my B.A. in Psychology from Emory and Henry College. I graduated with my MEd in School Counseling from Salem College. I thoroughly enjoy teaching classroom guidance lessons and conducting small group sessions. It is very important that my students know they always have someone to talk with and they are not alone. I am excited for a great year!
